China Link Short-term Scientific Exchange Scholarship Program


I. Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese national and be in good health.

2. Education background and age limit:

(1) General scholar: current Undergraduate students and Master students, under the age of 35

(2) Senior scholar: current Ph. D students or faculties, under the age of 40

3. Applicants should be registered as full-time student or employed as full-time academic staff at CSC’s foreign partner university by the time of application and throughout the proposed stay in China.


II. Content and Criteria of Scholarship 

1. Exempt from tuition and fee for accommodation

2. Monthly Living allowance:

(1) General scholar: RMB 3,000.

(2) Senior scholar: RMB 3,500.

3. Comprehensive Medical Insurance for international students in China.

4. Duration: 1-12 months. The starting time of studying in China should not be later than August 31, 2026.

IV. Application Procedure

1. Applicants check out relevant major of our university.

2. Apply at: http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina

4. Pay RMB 600 yuan for the application fee online after passing the material review.

5. Chang’an University recommends eligible applicants to China Scholarship Council.

6. China Scholarship Council announces the admission results.

7. Chang’an University issues the admission documents.

 

V. Application Materials

(1) CSC Application Form(Chinese or English) *only in University system.

(2) Highest diploma or studentship certificate or the certificate of employment from your current university/institution.

(3) Relevant transcripts.

(4) A motivation letter or a research proposal of no less than 500 words.

(5) Foreigner Physical Examination Form must be filled in English (valid for six months).

(6) Non-Criminal Record (valid for six months).

(7) Scanned personal information page of your valid passport.

(8) Language certificate (if any).

(9) Other supporting documents (if any).

Note: Application documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations.



International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Program


I. Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizens; in good physical and mental health; with good academic performance and conduct;

2. Friendly towards China, no criminal record, abides by Chinese laws, regulations, and university rules;

3. Aspires to future career in Chinese language teaching and related work;

4. Age between 16 and 35 (as of September 1, 2025). In-service Chinese language teachers may age up to 45 years old;

5. Have graduated from their most recent degree program, or can provide proof of retained student status from their current institution;

6. Have not received a scholarship of the same type within the past 3 years.


II. Scholarship Coverage and Standards

1. Covers tuition, accommodation fees; provides living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance.

2. Monthly living allowance: RMB 2,500;

3. Funding duration:

  1. One-year program: 11 months;

  2. One-semester program: 5 months.

4. Students choosing to live off-campus receive a monthly accommodation subsidy of RMB 700;


III. Scholarship Categories and Application Requirements

1. For one-year program applicants:

  1. Enrollment: September;

  2. Language proficiency requirements:

    1. For International Chinese Education direction, require HSK Level 3 score of 270, with HSKK score;

    2. For Chinese Language and Literature direction, require HSK Level 4 score of 180, HSKK (Intermediate) score of 60;

    3. For Chinese Study direction, require HSK Level 3 score of 210, priority given to applicants with HSKK score.

2. For one-semester program applicants:

  1. Enrollment: March, September;

  2. Language proficiency requirements: For International Chinese Education, Chinese Language and Literature directions, require HSK Level 3 score of 180, with HSKK score.

  3. Other requirements: Applicants with X1 or X2 visas on their passport will not be admitted.


IV. Application Procedure

1. Log in to the Center for Language Education and Cooperation website http://www.chinese.cn, International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship section, submit application materials online;

2. Log in to the Chang'an University School of International Education online application system (https://is.chd.edu.cn), follow the system instructions to submit materials online;

3. Pay application fee of RMB 600 (non-refundable);

4. The university reviews materials, eligible applicants enter the pre-admission stage;

5. The Center for Language Education and Cooperation announces the expert review results;

6. Applicants who are pre-admitted and pass the expert review complete the admission process.


V. Application Documents

1. Scanned copy of a valid ordinary passport. If currently in China, also provide scanned copy of a valid residence permit.

2. For graduated students: notarized highest diploma/degree certificate (prospective graduates provide pre-graduation certificate, must bring original diploma for registration in September); for current students: proof of retained student status from current institution;

3. Academic transcripts;

4. «Foreigner Physical Examination Form»; Applicants must strictly follow the items required in the form, filled in Chinese or English. Incomplete forms, missing photo, photo without stamped seam, or form without hospital stamp/doctor's signature are invalid. Check results are valid for 6 months. Plan the timing of the physical examination accordingly.

5. Certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued within the last 6 months. If the applicant is already in China, a certificate of student performance or no-disciplinary-record proof from the current institution is sufficient;

6. Language proficiency proof;

7. Motivation letter or study plan for studying in China;

8. International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Application Form (download after completing registration at http://www.chinese.cn);

9. Recommendation letter from the recommending institution;

10. Applicants under 18 must provide guardian guarantee documents.

Note: Application documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations.


VI. Regarding In-service Chinese Language Teachers and "Chinese Bridge" Winners

1. In-service Chinese Language Teachers: In-service Chinese language teachers applying for scholarships can provide a proof of employment or recommendation letter from their employer. Priority admission under equal conditions.

2. "Chinese Bridge" Winners: Those who have obtained the "International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate" in various "Chinese Bridge" competitions should log in to the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website and submit application materials to the host institution using the scholarship certificate.

VII. Recommending Institutions

Applicants for the Chang'an University International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship who lack a recommending institution should contact the Maldives Villa College Chinese Language Center (Confucius Institute) via email (clc@villacollege.edu.mv), providing a scanned copy of their passport photo page and HSK/HSKK certificates to obtain a recommendation letter.



Xi'an "Belt and Road" International Student Scholarship Short-Term Chinese Language Study Program


I. Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizens; in good physical and mental health; with good academic performance and conduct;

2. Friendly towards China, no criminal record, abides by Chinese laws, regulations, and university rules;

3. In principle, age under 45;

4. Have not previously received funding from the "Belt and Road" Scholarship Program and are not simultaneously receiving funding from other scholarship programs.


II. Scholarship Coverage and Standards

1. Tuition, accommodation fees, insurance premiums, etc., are self-funded;

2. Monthly living allowance: RMB 1,000;

3. Funding duration:

  1. One-year program: 10 months;

  2. One-semester program: 5 months.


III. Application Procedure

1. Log in to the Chang'an University School of International Education online application system (https://is.chd.edu.cn), follow the system instructions to fill in basic information and submit relevant materials.

2. Pay application fee of RMB 400 (non-refundable).

3. The university reviews materials. Students should monitor the application system and personal email for application progress and review feedback.

1. Scanned copy of a valid ordinary passport. If currently in China, also provide scanned copy of a valid residence permit.

Summer/Winter Camp Program


I. Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizens in good health;

2. Friendly towards China, no criminal record, abides by Chinese laws, regulations, and Chang'an University rules;

3. Age: 16-55 years old.


II. Program Details

III. Application Procedure

1. Send application documents to the Chang'an University School of International Education application email: apply@chd.edu.cn, stating the applied program or proposed program time;

2. The university reviews application materials and counts participants. After the application deadline, if the number of applicants exceeds the minimum of 10, the program is confirmed. The university issues invitation letters for visa applications. If the minimum is not met, the activity is canceled.


IV. Application Documents

1. Scanned copy of a valid ordinary passport. If currently in China, also provide scanned copy of a valid residence permit.

2. Certificate of current enrollment from school/educational institution, or proof of employment from workplace.
