I. Eligibility
1. Non-Chinese citizens, in good health.
2. Education and age requirements of the applicants:
(1) Those pursuing a bachelor's degree must have a high school diploma and be under 25 years old;
(2) Those pursuing a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under 35 years old;
(3) Those pursuing a Ph.D degree must have a master's degree and be under 40 years old;
(4) Non-degree program students should be under 45 years old.

Note: 1. The “stipend” is provided for the first year only. 2. The students of degree program should go through Annual Review. The annual review involves a comprehensive evaluation of students' moral conduct, academic performance, learning or research attitudes, and participation in activities. Students who pass the review will continue to be eligible for tuition support, while those who fail will not receive it for the next academic year. | ||||

IV. Application Materials
On the application system of our university, applicants must fill in information in Chinese or English and submit application materials online.
1. Valid Ordinary Passport.
If the applicant is in China, a valid residence permit is also required.
2. The highest degree certificate. Graduating students can provide a pre-graduation letter as a substitute, and have to bring the original certificate when they come to China.
3. Transcripts.
4. "Physical Examination Record for Foreigners".
Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the "Physical Examination Records for Foreigners" and fill them out in Chinese or English. The “Physical Examination Record for Foreigners” missing pages or without a photo or a cross-page seal on it, or without a signature of physician or seal from hospital is invalid. Whereas the inspection results are valid in 6 months, applicants are requested to determine the time of their medical examination accordingly.
5. Valid non-criminal record certificate. If the applicant is already in China, she/he can only provide performance letter or Non-objection certificate from current university.
6. Proof of Language Proficiency.
7. Study Plan for Bachelor or Research Plan for Master and Ph.D.
8. Two recommendation letters signed by (associate) professors (Undergraduate students are exempt).
9. Conditional acceptance letter (It’s not a mandatory but a preferred file, with which students will be admitted in priority).
10. Others preferred: academic achievements (important), certificates of sports or cultural activity.
Note: Chinese or English translation copy is mandatory if original file is not in Chinese/English/French/Spanish.

VI. Application Procedure
1. Log in to Chang’an University International Education School online application system at https://is.chd.edu.cn, follow the system prompts, select Chang’an University “The Belt and Road” Scholarship program, and submit your application materials online.
2. After the preliminary review is passed, pay the 400 RMB application fee on the system as required. The registration fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether you are admitted or not.
3. Application process completed. Thereafter, students are required to pay attention to the application system and their registered email account for updates on the application progress, review feedback, and the outcomes of the scholarship selection process.
Note: Applicants need to accurately fill in their email address, phone number, and mailing address. During the application period, applicants must reply to our emails in a timely manner. Applicants who fail to reply to emails in time or fail to provide additional materials as required within specified time will be considered as a waiver.
VII. Admission Notification
1. Once admitted, students are not allowed to change major, semester deadline, or medium of instruction.
2. The school issues "Admission Notice" and "Visa Application Form for Foreign Students to China" (JW202) to the students admitted for the purpose of applying for study visa in China. Those without X1 visa will not be allowed to register.
3. Admitted students are required to register in strict accordance with the requirements of the admission notice. The registration time is subject to the requirements of the admission notice.
4. Upon registration, the original graduation certificate and language proficiency certificate will be checked again. Those who fail to provide the certificate or fail to pass the certificate examination will be disqualified from admission.
5. Students who fail the physical examination or fail to register on time without permission will be disqualified from the scholarship.
6. Once verified commit fraud, the applicant will be disqualified from applying for university or be expelled from university.
